Pembe Gaziler

 

Pember Gaziler was born in Sydney, Australia. Graduating from the Haccettpe University’s Faculty of Fine Arts-department of ceramics and glass in 1999, she completed her graduate studies in the same department in 2003.

 

Gaziler completed a second graduate degree in Educational Sciences at the Near East University. Her works were exhibited at 15 different exhibitions across Lithuania, Istanbul, Ankara, North and South Cyprus. In 2004 she opened her first solo art exhibition. As a member of the Ankara ex-libris association, she continues to contribute to the associations works.

 

From 1998-1999 she performed on stage at the Hacettepe University’s Fine Arts Festivals Modern Dance shows.

 

She joined the modern dance workshops with classes with E.M.T.U. Modern Dance Group and joined Creative Drama workshops of Prof.Dr. Ayşe Çakır.

 

She is still continuing to work on ceramic-sculpture and graphics in her studio.

 

 

 

Mustafa ELMAS

 

 

Mustafa Elmas was born in Nicosia in 1978. He graduated from the Hacettepe University’s Ankara State Conservatory.

He founded the ‘TangoCyprus’ Tango School and ‘Orquesta el Mediterraneo’ tango orchestra in 2003. Together with the School and Orchestra he performed in numerous international music festivals and organizations both in the TRNC and abroad.

Mustafa Elmas currently teaches Lycee teaching Orchestra, Harmony, Chamber Music as well as digitial music at the the Nicosia Anatolian Fine Arts Lycee.

The conductor and accordion-bandoneon player for the ‘Orquesta el Mediterraneo’ tango orchestra he is also currently serving as the president of the TRNC Friends of Music Association.

 

 

Mustafa ELMAS - Pembe GAZİLER

 

As founders of the TangoCyprus Tango School and pioneers of Tango culture in Cyprus both Mustafa Elmas and Pembe Gaziler since 2003 have been involved with sharing their knowledge of Tango music, dance and culture with others. They have instructed hundreds of people in art of tango dance.

 

The couple received their first tango training from the Aydogan-Sule Arkis couple. Together they have organized numerous workshops and events with the participation of many well known instructors and dancers.

 

Elmas and Gaziler have also launched the first detailed tango website www.tangocyprus.com and are the proud founders of the tango group email list This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it which has hundreds of members.

 

The couple has and continues to receive private and group lessons from world renowned tango instructors.
